We're having debates in Norway about opening up new areas for oil exploration. What happened in the Gulf of Mexico could happen anywhere.The view is to the northwest from Bergen. We do have some lovely coastline here. 🙂
Just so there's no misunderstanding: We don't have oil drilling that close to land. The rig was in for parts replacement (blowout preventer). Deepsea Atlantic – the movie is from when they took delivery almost a year ago. It looks to me like similar technology to the \”Deepwater Horizon\” in the Gulf of Mexico.It's a big deal for me to see an oil rig, even at a distance. You'd be surprised at how little we notice of Norway's oil drilling in downtown Bergen.
